Where It All Began…
Visions Medical Health Care was founded on October 1, 2018 by Tamieka Alston-Gibson, FNP.
VMHC was derived from a dream and a vision; along with a desire to help others.
During Tamieka's years of experience in various positions within the healthcare arena,
she witnessed many health disparities across various communities and a lack of compassion
in the industry.
She desired to make a difference in the field she loved by improving and
empowering the lives of others. The goal at Visions Medical Healthcare is to provide quality
care and services that exceed patient expectations while empowering them to live healthier and
longer lives.
It’s our desire and mission to set ourselves apart from ordinary providers,
offering a unique service, designed to meet our patients where they are. At VMHC, our services
are not confined within the four walls of our clinic.
VMHC care is provided within our family clinic, at various assistance living facilities, and
within the homes of our patients.
Increasing the accessibility to healthcare, while providing affordable cost-effective
services in a caring manner, treating each patient with respect and dignity is our dream
fulfilled.

Tamieka Alston-Gibson
Founder & Chief Provider, MSN,RN,APRN, FNP-c
Tamieka Alston-Gibson is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and founder of Visions
Medical Health
Care in Spartanburg, SC.
She began her healthcare career working at Spartanburg Regional Hospital as a Patient Care
Associate while
attending nursing school at The University of South Carolina-Upstate. She later received a
Master's of
Nursing degree with a specialization in Nursing Education. Tamieka believed that learning is an
ongoing
process and later pursued a higher level of education, receiving a Post Master's Nurse
Practitioner
Certification from the University of South Carolina - Columbia. With her advanced clinical
training, Tamieka
is licensed by the State of South Carolina to diagnose illnesses, treat acute and chronic
conditions, and
provide evidence-based health education to patients of all ages. Her scope of practice
encompasses health
promotion and disease prevention, in addition to diagnosis and management of health care
problems. She
currently specializes in Primary Care, Geriatric Care and House Calls. Since her entry into the
field of
healthcare, she has accumulated 17 years of nursing experience and expertise.
For Tamieka, assisting others is more than a job; it is truly her passion and her ministry.
